Here’s a whole list of commonly-used Neo-Chat.

AC- A name for the Avatar Chat.

Avvie/Avy- Abbreviation for avatar, it’s the little picture on your left when you chat. Click here for the Avatar Guide.

BC- Abbreviation for the Beauty Contest.

BDC- A name for the Battledome Chat.

ETS/HTS- Means ‘Easy To Sell’ and ‘Hard To Sell’.

FC- An abbreviation for the Neopets Fan Club Board.

FTP/STP…- Meaning First To Post and Second To Post.

GL- Meaning Good Luck.

HC- A name for the Help Chat.

HT- An abbreviation for The Hidden Tower, a place where EVERYTHING is over one million np.

K- Can mean ‘OK’ or thousand. Lets say 40k would mean 40000np.

n00b- Meaning an annoying Neopian who get under everybody’s skin. It is often confused with ‘newbie’.

Newbie- A person who is new to Neopets, it is often confused with ‘n00b’.

NTY- Meaning ‘No thank-you.’

RE- A random event.

RS- To restock in the Neopian Shops.

Spam- A pointless message which has nothing to do with the original topic.

UB- Meaning ‘unbuyable’.

Board Rules

Grammar- Good grammar is important. If you use slang all the time, it will be hard to read and annoying for some users. Say if you are too lazy to type “Hello? Anyone there?”, and used slang instead, “helo? alt?”. Hardly anyone could understand that. Learn to type in a more civilized way.

How Should You Type- Many people will criticize you or even report you for typing in a bad manner. Here are some examples:

sTiCkY CaPs, this is very annoying and hard to read, don’t use it.

CAPS LOCK, typing with the Caps Lock on is very rude and is indicated as shouting.

I337 sp34k- Also know as Leetspeak, this is the worst type of slang anyone could use and is almost impossible to read.

Emoticons- It is irritating when someone post “lol” with 9 million emoticons at the end. Besides, most of us gets the point.
